one of my worst nightmares...
I was in a rush to get some documents to A to fax (we are refinancing our house).
I always take going out of the house in sequintial steps.
1) I get everything ready and put it by the door.
2) I put the diaper bag, my purse, and any other items I need in the truck.
3) I put the baby in her seat.
After putting Ileigh in the carseat, I realized I forgot the paci and my cell phone. I locked the truck (so no one kidnaps the babe), and went inside to grab those items.
I grabbed the paci which was on a string and was holding it in my hand. My cell was in my pocket and I guess subconciously I thought I had my keys...
but NOPE! I locked the house door and then got up to the truck and she was locked inside!!! I saw her poor little face staring back at me and my heart filled my toes.
Frantically, I tried the truck door, than the house door. Take a breath, think.
No one has keys that lives near my house. My mom does, she's at work. How would I get there? A does, he's at work, could he leave home while Ileigh sits in the car? At least I had my phone. Should I break a car window? hmmm.
A blessing in disguise, my AC just broke. Therefore I had my bedroom window cracked, with the evap on. I was able to break off the screen and squeeze through. Fat post-partum butt and all.
You should of seen the dog's face!
So that was a full-scale panic! Those 5 minutes seemed like 45. And the dog is still laughing at me.
