Ileigh is walking much more than crawling now. OH, it is NICE! I love being able to take her outside without her getting quite so dirty. Yesterday, was my company party. It was a blast. They did a family oriented theme this year. It was like Shirley Temple's birthday party. There were every kind of inflatable entertainment you can imagine. They also had clowns, face painting, cotton candy and snow cones. There were carnival games, ping pong, volley ball, tic tac toe, and relay races. They had food catered and the most thoughtful setup was about 100 little tykes toys of every 14 month old's dream. Of course, my little tyke was at home taking her afternoon nap. But just long enough for mama to win a door prize of 4 movie passes and Bingo twice (I did feel a little guilty about that). Daddy and Ileigh arrived about an hour before the party was over and still got to enjoy some games and toys. The best toy, is something I have coveted for the last 10 years. It is a baby "roller coaster" with a little ride on toy that goes down this grey slope. We had a blast sailing Ileigh down it and she only face planted once. There was so much going on, she hardly noticed. Austin even enjoyed the coaster, even after splitting the wheel in two.
I got to see some of my old work buddies (from my old office). I think they still recognize me! I sure miss having those old work conversations, happy hours, and baby showers. *sigh* It's a give and a take, I guess. I try to live vicariously through Andy and what he tells me goes on at work. He doesn't pay attention or get into the conversations much...or won't let on that he does. I know the women at his work talk about sex and boys but Andy probably not so much. I just need to make some more friends I think.
The stomach flu is going around like mad here. I worked last Saturday and Barb told me 3 more people had caught it. You bet I ran around with a tub of Clorox wipes the entire day. My hands are peeling, I washed them so raw. Then I found out yesterday my nephew had it too. I warned my sister she may get it and then stepped back 10 feet. Today, she is sick too. I know how it is being sick with young kids, and I wish I could help her. I would be sure to get it if I babysat for her now though. It just sucks. I can't risk Ileigh and I getting sick. I hope we aren't already doomed. I wonder why they don't make a flu shot for the stomach flu. That would be worth getting!
Ileigh did 2 new things yesterday. She started pointing to her and a fishes "eye" when asked, and she fit the circle jingle balls in the circular shape sorter. I was so proud! I am going to work on belly next. Another thing that Andy was especially endeared by, is the affection she has been giving lately. Yesterday morning, Ileigh gave me the worst titty twister of my life. I was crying out in pain and she finally stopped and got this unusual look on her face. Then she started being really gentle with me and put her mouth up next to my face 3 times. It was like she was really sorry and wanted me to forgive her. Awwww..
