Once at the hotel, we had to get a porta crib, blah blah blah.. It was after 1 am! I knew we could forget our first day at disney, since we would NOT be waking at 5am our time to pack up, check out, get our rental car, pack bottles and sandwiches, etc. So we took our time in the morning, went to the grocery store, got our car, and went off to our resort.
The resort let us check in early, it looked like a great place! We got ready and went to Epcot. Since we only had an afternoon/evening, we chose the place we were least interested in. When we first got there, we went to the finding nemo exhibit with a bunch of aquariums. Ileigh ran around with her leash on. We waited in line for a show but got cut off right before our turn. whaaaaa. We left because we did not want to wait another 30 minutes. It also sucks that at Disney you have to leave your stroller outside every establishment. This means with your belongings too, unless you have 4 arms.
We ended up riding Soarin, and a crazy boat ride that took you through a greenhouse. Ileigh squrimed so bad in line, I couldn't put her down or she would run off. It was like holding on to a CAT. Remember to keep substituting her name here, folks! Once on the boat, I thought she would be amazed by all the sights. A little bit, yes, but not at all like I thought. She just kept hiking her leg up over the boat to get off. She wasn't scared, just curious, maybe. It was annoying though. I was really tempted to just let her go!
As evening approached, we walked around the pathway of different countries. I have to admit it was neat! Ileigh actually fell asleep in her stoller, and we could enjoy some luxuries such as eating dinner! We went on one more ride, the Maelstrom. I liked it. We took turns with the baby. Austin got/had to ride everything twice! We had heard lots of raves about Epcot's firework show, Illuminations. We got a spot 40 minutes early. We fed ducks and Ileigh enjoyed that. The show was part laser, part firework, plus loud music. Equals BIG mistake. Ileigh (aka my cat) was so freaked out, I have never seen her like that. She shook furiously and belted out cries of panic every few seconds. I tried to take her away from the show but she could still hear it, and it was no help. I wanted Austin to get to see the show but it was looking hopeless. I ended up dodging into a shop and trying to show her pretty things for sale. She was so frantic, she almost made me cry.
The next day we went to Magic Kingdom which is like Disneyland but smaller. We took Ileigh on the new pooh bear ride and she seemed to enjoy it. Next we did Peter pan, and then It's a small world. Later we took her on Buzz lightyear where everyone gets their own laser guns and the cars take tally of your shpts. It coulda been real neat, I guess! Around noon, Andy decided to take Ileigh home while Austin and I stayed to have more fun. This was a great idea! We got to ride everything, and a few times. I would say overall, DL is much better though. The rides seem faster, longer, and more interesting. That's okay though, it was fun. Andy brought Ileigh back and I showed her a very lame version of TOONtown. Only 2 houses to walk through, and the rooms were all roped off! I tried to get her to meet minnie and mickey at the end but she would not stay in line for one second! Frustrating, taking your cat to Disney world.
The following day we took a break by sleeping in, and going to Animal Kingdom. First we tried the 3D bug movie. One loud noise.. and Ileigh and I were OUTA there! Oh well. Next, we went to the safari ride, which I heard was SO cool. 40 wait though. We got a fast pass and went to the dinosaur ride. That was pretty neat, but Andy didn't care for it. An hour later, we were back to the Safari ride. We braved the fast pass line (still long). We got on and the kitty started squirming. I mean, kicking, yelling, and trying to pull strangers' hair, grab their purses, glasses, whatever. If they didn't oblige... you got it, she would holler, kick, and try to hurt. Them and Me! It was no fun. I couldn't even listen to the guide, or hardly look around. Stinker!
Next we went on the water ride. Austin and Andy didn't get a drop of water on them, but when Austin and I went, A got Soaked! It was all over after that. In addition to our day, we had noticed that the park was unusually crowded. I knew they were due to open a new roller coaster soon, Expedition Everest. When we walked by the ride, it was closed, but there were a bunch of uniformed disney people out front and a huge crowd. It seems the coaster opened up that morning, and we had no idea. DAMN! It was going to open again, possibly later on. WHat?! The park was only open for another hour. We waited around with Austin wet and complaining. We finally left about 20 min before close. NO ride. We saw it going as we entered the parking lot. I know you are thinking why didn't we just go another day. The thing is, AK wasn't that cool otherwise. And we only got a 6 day NO park hop ticket. It would've taken a whole day up and that's if we even got a chance to ride it. Oh well.
I am tired of typing now so I will finish with part 3 later. Thanks for reading this far guys!!
