Bad week for Ileigh!

Dh and I were holding Ileigh's hands while she was running around my mom's back yard. We lifted her up and heard a POP.
She started screaming and we knew she must've popped something out of socket.

We decided to go to dh's work which is a hospital. We took her right in to get x-rays, which was quite torturous, but we were able to give them, of course.
She would not move her arm, and cried when it was jiggled at all. We felt so sorry for her! We figured she probably had nursemaid's elbow.
DH didn't know the er dr on call. So, we had to go register ourselves which took, um about an hour?! It is in a bad part of town so there were bums in there, people with huge ulcerations and LOUD arguments. I was afraid of getting shot!
The dumb dumb nurse called us in to triage and couldn't figure anything out. I mean, paperwork, blood pressure cuffs, pulse ox, you name it. She couldn't find one damn pediatric piece of equipment! It is quite strange for an ER not to have ped sized stuff.
To top things off, she kept saying how funny it was that my baby's cries sounded like she was laughing. I was ready to punch her in the face.
Next, we got called back into the ER and were put in a room. DH went to the bathroom and this other horrible male nurse barged over and said a few rude things before telling me he had to keep the door shut. I asked if she could have a cracker since she hadn't eaten since lunch and he said absolutely not. The dr. needed to see her first. Andy came back and then he saw someone he knew. She told us we were in for a night of it. She said the dr. on night shift was a jerk and was taking his sweet time making rounds. Ileigh was so upset and I was beginning to panic. There were no tv's in the rooms, no entertainment all for a toddler, and since we rushed to get there we didn't even have her paci or a diaper.
I told dh to get that $^%(@#$ dr in our room or we were leaving! He went to find him, and guess what he was doing? Sitting on the counter joking away with the nurses. Dh went to get our x-rays so we could go somewhere else. Yep, you guessed it! They lost them.

Part 2. We decided to go to an expensive but very nice Children's Hospital. They were packed! They were very nice to us though and evaluated her right away. They said it would be a quick procedure for the dr to pop her elbow back but meanwhile she was in PAIN! Her arm didn't qualify for their "fast track" wait so we were in for the long haul. Now I will make the story short. After 5 hours, Ileigh started holding her arm differently, she pushed off my lap and ran off accross the waiting room. Apparently, she had had enough of the long evening and popped her elbow back into place on her own. She seems fine now but I took her to the ped so he could evaluate and confirm. He said she has now loosened that ligament so to be really careful and that it will most likely happen again. Next time, we are not going to the ER!
