The Saturday before Easter, Ileigh was all decked out in her cousin's HMD party dress. She looked like a doll. We went to Grandma's to play with all her cousins and aunts and one uncle. I woke up frustrated. Then when Ileigh was happily playing on a blanket on the cool deck, I got my camera to start our Easter picture collection. I turned it on and it shuts off. It never turned back on again. I know you are thinking " It's just the battery dumbass!" No, it's not. It has done this before, and they (Best Buy nerds) tested it, and had to send it in for repair. That happened at the convient time of Ileigh's first few weeks after being born. I didn't get the camera back until she was a few months old.
=( :0 Now, Again?!? I can't take it. The good news is I purchased that warranty nobody gets for 59.99 for 5 extra years. It expires in June of 2006. So I am expecting my camera to be gone for good just in time for Ileigh's 2nd birthday. ARGHHH. Shortly after my camera failing, Ileigh dives face first into the concrete. Then I get yelled at by various family members. Hello? I didn't throw her! I almost went home. Then DH says he is going to go get something and will be right back. I don't see him for another hour. By the time he returns, I want to leave. Happy Happy day.
Easter AM, a little better, because it's the day of the big egg hunt. We scramble to hide 10 eggs in the front room for Austin, and 3 colored boxes as an easter basket. He will never let me live that one down. We hurry and dress up for church, and Ileigh wears a beautiful lime green satin dress with pink roses. (insert adorable pic from digital camera here). We arrive at church, a few minutes late. I rush Ileigh to the nursery (she has never been to before). They hesitate when they see us walking towards them. I ask if they have room, they sadly say, "I guess we could call in Amy." YAY. Just stick my kid in the corner until Amy comes.
I hand her over.
The service was mediocre. Austin nearly broke my shoulder hanging his head on it. I saw a baby in there slam her face on the pew, and couldn't take my mind off of her or Ileigh. Off to the egg hunt!
My sister J arrives with her 2 and 5 yr olds and a big sour face. I don't know why she doesn't see the fun in these things. She wouldn't take her 2 yr old trick or treating, didn't help him dye eggs, and now was mad because Grandma said she HAD to let him participate in Easter. WOW. Aren't these the events most parents live to show their kids about? I guess we are not related after all.
The egg hunt goes well, with about 100 eggs disappearing from all crevices of the yard in 2 minutes flat. Okay, there were 32 people. I found ten dollars and number 11 prize egg. Better than some people. E spent a LOT of money on the prizes this year. There were at least 10 ten dollar gift cards to choose from. Austin got number 2, he chose Target. I chose Macaroni Grill (yum). I know lots of people just think our egg hunt deviates from the true meaning of Easter, it costs hundreds of dollars, and it really is quite disgusting. So why do we have it? Because it is fun to watch, and most people have a great time visiting and all the kids play together. So don't think to hard about it. Just enjoy it.

Whatever camera took the water pics is pretty cool - you can see each individual droplet!
I hope I was not one who yelled at you about Ileigh's dive into concrete. I really did not perceive any criticism of you - only concern for Ileigh. Sometimes mom's can be sensitive though.
