The Daycare Dilemma

I need to put Ileigh in Daycare. PRONTO. She needs the stimulation, dicipline, and freedom from her parents. At this point, I think it would be mean to deprive her of that experience.
I have been looking at several places. I am kicking myself for not checking into them earlier. I guess you just never know what is going to happen in the future. I guess I was afraid of getting into one I liked, before I was ready to A) let go of my baby and B) rejoin the work force. Well now it looks like we are stuck until January, when some places have openings. Some of the places I looked at have waiting lists that cost money. I can understand that they want serious inquiries only. At the same time, I don't want to pay for something I may or may not need in another 4-8 months. By then, I hope to have her established somewhere else. Here is my breakdown.

Children's School- Openings in Jan- 1 mile away- No fee- small rooms, ok teachers, not that impressed- didn't check price

Lincoln Learning Center- Openings in Jan at soonest- 5 miles away- $25 fee- ok rooms and teachers, nice outdoor area- $168/week

The Weekday School- Openings in Jan at soonest- 1/2 mile away- no fee- as nice as Lincoln Learning center, takes part time, no bottles allowed- $145 or less a week

Villa Montessori- Openings in Jan at soonest, possibly not till june- 10 miles away- no fee- awesome activites, great philosophy, a place she would stay a long time- $175/week

Upward Foundation- starts at age 18mos- 1 mile away- No fee- nice school, Austin went there and they remember him, Andy's aunt unexpectedly works there, kindof dingy but prob ok, kids are mixed ages, part time 2-5 days pick and choose- $150 or less/week

Age Link- openings Jan soonest- 3 miles away- No fee- Nice clean school, several toddler rooms, food served there, no part time- $156/week

I may keep looking, or I may just put her on all the no fee wait lists and see what comes up first. Let me know if any of you have any opinions on these places!

I vote for Villa Montessori.

I vote for Khalsa Montessori, which you haven't investigated despite having a million opportunities to do so.

A few notes on Children's House. They serve breakfast AND lunch which is a great deal for meat-eaters like you. Full time care is $150/week for 1-year-olds. They are very nice there and very flexible. You should take another, more serious look at it. The small rooms make it less institutional.
