Inspector Gadget~~ Du na na na nat

We have discovered something vital to our sanity. Ileigh needs new experiences. Constantly. This is what keeps her from crying. I knew there was a reason for her eagerness to dart as far away as possible everytime I let that child down!

Is she afraid of water? No. Does she have a fear of strangers? No. But she sometimes will not let them hold her. That is because Ileigh has her own agenda. Hear that ma and pa? She knows what she wants and she won't settle for anything. I have never met a kid that is so difficult to redirect! Sure, she's a cutie.. and when strangers stop to talk to her and ask her about her day.. well, she ignores them. Aloofly, she will just look the other way.. possibly dreaming of crawling into some wood piles she sees in the distance.
The reason we are jumping for joy over our new found discovery, is that now we have a way to make the ear-piercing screams stop. We just take her outside, putting her down of course, so she can explore. If we venture out by car, we simply endure her whines for more experiences until we get to the new place of experience. Is it enough to stroll/carry/guide Ileigh around? NO! Aren't you listening?? Ileigh has to do things on her own accord. In other words, she wants to experience them for herself, by herself, crawling touching tasting feeling. Yes this is very difficult to do. Quite frankly Walmart is not the cleanest place for a 14 month old to venture. Neither is Safeway. Okay, neither are any of my friends and relatives houses. Two words. Antibacterial wipes. They are a godsend. They, are why my baby is going to be the happiest little Inspector Gadget ever!
